Having time between appointments can be vital to account for writing up notes, cleaning, travel or giving you some breathing space if an appointment needs to run over.


There are two ways to add a buffer time on SIF Health. Automated, ot Manual.


Automated


To add an automate buffer time, simply follow these steps:


1) Select Services from the left hand menu

2) Select the 3 dots next to your name, and select Edit Profile

3) Select the tab labelled Booking Preferences & add your buffer time in minutes. Click Save once done

4) Head into Users, then Rota/ Hours in the menu

5) Ensure your working hours have no gaps during the day (unless you're taking a lunch break for example)

       - Please note that buffer times are only used when clients are booking themselves in

       - You are in complete control when booking a client in yourself and don't have to follow a set buffer time

       - Any slots that are white are available and bookable, and any slots that are grey/ black are unavailable

       - If you have multiple locations or specialists, you can use the drop down boxes at the top to select the relevant location/ specialist. Ensure you click save once done.


The buffer time between appointments is set in minutes and should be input as numbers only as per the example below.


The buffer time is unique for each user/therapist and is applied to their appointments but not events. If you have imported events in from an external calendar you would need to manually add any buffer times.


If you are using an automated buffer time in place you may need to factor that in for the end time on your rota. For example if you have 45 minute appointments but a 30 min buffer time in place and you wanted your last appointment to be at 1600 then you would need to have your rota availability finish at 17:15 to account for both the appointment and buffer time.

Manual


If you wish to set a manual buffer time, then this is done as follows:


1) Select Services from the left hand menu

2) Select the 3 dots next to your name, and select Edit Profile

3) Select the tab labelled Booking Preferences & add a buffer time of 0 Minutes. Click Save once done (this is very important)

4) Head into Users, then Rota/ Hours in the menu

5) Ensure your working hours have the buffer time gaps that you want. For example 9-10 will be white, then 10-10.30 will be black/ grey if you want that to have a 30 minute buffer time, then 10.30-11.00 will be white again
